I am an American artist based in New York. In 2010, I graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in the History of Art and Architecture. By using a combination of memory and observation, I try to navigate the boundaries between contrivance and fiction, and reality and representation.

My painting also attempts to confront what painting is and the possibilities beyond creating a nice picture. I am constantly working to be less precious and to alternate between abstraction and representation. My process mimics my interest in ambiguity; this ambiguity is located in mark making and color as well as in subject.

News:
I just completed a residency at the Vermont Studio Center and now will be going to the Contemporary Arts Center Woodside in Troy, New York to work as an artist in residence in a neo-gothic chapel, formerly the Woodside Church and Chapel. I have been given grants by both VSC and CAC and NYFA and East End Arts to make this studio time possible.
